Our story began with a shared belief: pet living should be held to the same standard as the spaces we design for ourselves. Guided by backgrounds in interior design, business, entrepreneurship and united by a lifelong love of dogs, we set out to elevate the category through thoughtful design, purposeful function, and enduring craftsmanship.
The Story Behind Us
Bowsers was established in 1997 by Bob and Eileen, along with Linda, an integral member of the founding team. Dog lovers with roots in the pet world, the brand emerged from years of firsthand experience and an appreciation for architecture and interiors. From the very beginning, it was shaped not only by our vision, but by a dedicated team committed to doing things differently.
We set out to elevate the pet bed category through thoughtful design, purposeful function, and enduring craftsmanship. Rather than follow convention, we chose to design with intention.
A New Standard for Pet Living
We didn’t just create a dog bed, we redefined what one could be.
Bowsers was the first to introduce a true bolster-style bed. A design that blended structure, support, and coziness in a way the industry hadn’t seen before. That first creation, now known as the Donut Bed, became an instant classic. It provided dogs with a sense of security and comfort, while offering pet owners a product that finally fit seamlessly into their home.
It was a philosophy that guided an entire collection of pet furnishings designed with the same care, quality, and integrity as the spaces we live in.

A Legacy of Originality
From the beginning, Bowsers has led with design.
What started with the Donut Bed evolved into an entire collection of elevated styles. Each one thoughtfully created in-house by co-lead designers Eileen and Linda alongside their team. Their architectural sensibility and deep understanding of how dogs live and rest have shaped products that are not only functional, but distinctly beautiful.
Over time, many of our styles have influenced the wider category. But true originality is more than a look, it’s an ongoing commitment to thoughtful design and higher standards. While others follow, we continue to set the tone.
